Heroes Season 4 Preview : Popular Mechanics

Here's a an article from Popular Mechanics Sci-Fi Fall TV Preview. They just present a recap of Heroes Season 4 spoilers published so far.

Enjoy!

Tim Kring's Heroes has had it's ups and downs since it premiered in the Fall of 2006, due in part to the writer's strike which crippled Season Two with only 11 out of 24 episodes produced, and also the shift away from character-driven episodes which made the first season so popular. Fan-favorite writer and producer Bryan Fuller returned for the second half of Season Three ("Fugitives") and helped to lay much of the groundwork for Season Four before leaving the show for good. The shocking events of last season's finale, which saw the death of Nathan Petrelli whose mind was then placed into the villainous Sylars body by resident telepath Matt Parkman, really shook up the Heroes status quo. Season Four ("Redemption") picks up six weeks later with all the main characters moving on with their lives: Peter is a Paramedic, Claire is off to college, Nathan is learning more about his "new" abilities, Parkman is tortured by visions of Sylar due to the transfer and Hiro is dying. Things are going to get even crazier when the Carnival, led by the mysterious Samuel (Prison Break's Robert Knepper), rolls into town complete with an all new band of freaks including a tattooed woman, an elderly time traveller and a knife thrower played by Darth Maul himself, Ray Park.

Sources say that Jayma will appear in one episode of Heroes. Hope there's more.

Fan Poster of Sylar

Sarmy Fan Poster of Sylar.

This Promotional poster comes from Zachary Quinto's website. Click on the image to enlarge.

I think this is better than the Promotional Poster created by NBC. What do you think?

Heroes season 4 will return on 09.21.09.

Additional information, Sarmy is an abbreviation for Sylar's army and was founded on the 9thwonders.com message boards on June 22, 2007. Sarmy is a forum club within the "Sylar general appreciation thread" (SGAT). Originally this thread was created by a member named Lauryn in response to a "sick of Sylar" thread. Ashz22 then expanded the Sarmy by making the Official Sarmy Forum. An official website for Sarmy was launched on August 3, 2007 by a member named Mabes.

Ali Larter on Set of Heroes

It's been a month since Heroes started filming its fourth season entitled Redemption. Here are some pictures of Ali Larter during filming of Episode 4 of Season 4. These pictures are courtesy of Spoiler TV.

Tattoo Girl Identity

Heroes producer/writer Adam Armus provide an inside scoop with the character named Lydia, the Tattoo Girl. From the previous post, Lydia will be played by Dawn Olivieri.

Here's the full article from IGN.

Lydia is the beautiful, charming, soul of the Sullivan Brothers Carnival. This carnival is a roving band of people blessed with special abilities. They are powerful, but they hide in the shadows, performing on the outskirts of towns and cities. But all of that is about to change.

Lydia has been part of this carnival for a number of years. She is the exotic tattoo lady, but she is also a powerful empath of sorts. She has the ability to 'sense' the images on her body and provide valuable information about them. This ability is of great value to Samuel (Robert Knepper), the leader of the carnival. He uses Lydia's ability to locate other 'specials' in the world and uses the information she provides to woo them to his side.

Lydia is compassionate towards Samuel. She understands the grief that has fueled his ambition. But will she support his ultimate destructive goals? Will she be loyal or does Lydia have her own agenda?
By the way, the picture you see is the first promotional picture of Heroes for Season 4 Redemption.

Heroes Season 4 Episode 4 Casting Call

Heroes will be needing a male skilled cellist between 25 to 30 years old. The character description says that he will be a sensitive troubadour in Central Park that has a magical experience when a stranger plays his cello. The role might not have actual lines but he will be featured and paid sag scale. Please take note that any previous experience with a cello or viola is required.

He will be a co-star in the fourth episode of Heroes Season 4.

Perhaps this cellist might be part of the so called carnival company. What do you think?

Heroes Character Update and More

According to wikipedia, model and actress Dawn Olivieri will be the newest addition to the cast of Heroes. According to casting calls she will play a character called Lydia. Dawn is a lead in the Sci-Fi Channel Movie HYDRA, and she is the voice of "Pepper Potts" in the new AVENGERS animated series. She appeared as well in various television shows like My Boys (TBS), Knight Rider (NBC), Trust Me (TNT), Stargate:Atlantis and How I Met Your Mother.

Most likely she will play the part of “Tattoo girl” who is described as a 22-28 female who works at the carnival, a little gullible, follows others’ lead. She has a mysterious side and is very sexy.

Another Heroes character update. I don't know if this is good news or bad news for Heroes fans. One original Heroes cast member will be leaving the show for good before the end of the coming Season. This is a news coming from the recent spoiler chat with Kristin.
Tina in Australia: Anything new on Heroes?
We're increasingly certain that a beloved, original castmember is leaving Heroes for good before the end of the coming season.
I wonder who will leave Heroes? Adrian Pasdar? Zachary Quinto?

Any thoughts?

Casting Call for Heroes Season 4 Episode 4

Here's another Heroes Season 4 casting call news from Spoiler TV.

From this post they say that they need a female Caucasian character that will portray Doctor Cambridge which is around 60 years old. She must be fluent in sign language. I think the deaf character (Deanne Bray) and this doctor will have a scene. Don't you think?

Hayden Talks About the New Organization in Season 4

Hayden Panettiere, who portrays Claire Bennet, reveals to TeenTelevision some details of Heroes Season 4 : Redemption. This will premiere on September 21 8PM ET.

She said that the “The Carnival is the opposite of the Company. The Company wanted their powers kept secret; their whole being was to keep people from telling, to keep it all under wraps. And the Carnival’s the opposite, they want everyone to know.”

This is in support of an article from Tim Kring in Heroes All Access saying that there's another organization that treats people with abilities in a fascinating, dangerous and potentially deadly new way.

Is "Carnival" the new organization Tim Kring's talking about?

Can't wait until September 21.

Interview with Adrian Pasdar and Christine Rose

Here's an interview article from Sci-Fi Wire discussing what to expect from next Season and some scenes in Season 4 Episode 3 which is entitled Acceptance.

Pasdar confirmed that Nathan will be redeemed this season and Christine Rose (Angela Petrelli) said that there is a shocking change plan for Angela in Episode 4x03 (Acceptance). Additionally Rose once again confirmed that each episode will focus on fewer characters, so expect to see less of all the characters.

As always, the season finale of NBC's Heroes teased the next one: Sylar shape-shifted into Nathan's body, and Adrian Pasdar played a bewildered "Nathan" who started to show signs of Sylar's old watchmaking skills. This bothered Angela Petrelli (Cristine Rose), who just wanted to take her son out to lunch.

At the Saturn Awards on Wednesday, Pasdar said that he's not going to play Sylar so much as play somebody trying to imitate Nathan. (Pasdar took home a Saturn Award for best supporting actor on a television series.)

"That's the irony," Pasdar said. "I don't feel like I'm playing Sylar. I feel like I'm playing a guy who's playing Nathan. You see what I'm saying? I'm not trying to act like Sylar. Sylar's trying to act like Nathan. A little tic ... here, a little compulsive, obsessive behavior somewhere else."

Riiighht.

In a separate interview at the awards ceremony, Rose suggested that it might only get harder to follow who is playing whom on Heroes: The upcoming "volume five" has Sylar and Peter (Milo Ventimiglia) morphing into a variety of of co-stars and day players. "I just read episode 403 yesterday," Rose said. "What happens then, my mind has been so baffled, but it's a lot of fun. Yet another huge change comes for me in episode 403."

Nathan Petrelli began as a corrupt politician who was willing to let New York explode. He ultimately sacrificed himself to stop his brother, Peter, from blowing up, but later worked with the government to capture people with abilities. Pasdar suggested that his journey in the next season will finally redeem Nathan.

"I think there's going to be a good redemptive nature to his behavior this year," Pasdar said. "Somehow we're going to try to get out from underneath the dark cloud that surrounded the first couple years of his perception of what his power might be, his ability. It's nice to think it might end a little lighter. It might end with a martyrdom kind of behavior thing in order to sacrifice [himself] to serve the world."

As for that crazy episode 403 Rose mentioned, it includes the usual Petrelli parental issues. Nathan will be managing his shape-shifting, and their interaction will revolve more around Rose's Angela. "It's classic Mama Petrelli," Pasdar said. "It's more on her consistent behavior than it is on mine. I have a little bit of a shift going through my character, so she's more solid. It more resonates around her gravity pull than mine."

Rose added that the new season will spend comparatively less time with all characters. "All the stories are much smaller than they were, so each episode will be fewer people," Rose said. "So it'll be smaller stories for everyone, but I'm happy that they write my name in the script."

Both actors defended the changes in the writing staff, most notably the abrupt departure of Bryan Fuller for a second time. "Actually, there haven't been that many changes," Pasdar said. "People come and go. The core of the writing group has been there from day one. The show will end up being remembered for what it is, not for what people thought it might become or wished it had. The show is the show. You have to work with the mechanics that you're given, and we have some tremendously talented writers that work very hard every day to sculpt and craft the show. So it's my job to say what they interpret as the character. The arrivals and departures, I love Bryan Fuller. He's a good friend."

More Heroes Redemption Updates

Whew. What a week for Heroes. A lot of news happened in Heroes universe for the past couple of days.

By the way, most of the news I got comes from heroeswiki so better check that site for more heroes updates.

First. Quin and Reed Baron, the actors that portrayed the role of Matt Parkman Jr, will be back. Earlier this year, the father of the twins, reported difficulties to set up an schedule for his sons due to a family vacation to Jamaica. He also stated that he was not canceling his trip and that NBC and Heroes may recast or replace the young actors. Read more. This news is in accordance with the story plot that Matt Parkman. Sources say that Matt will be starting a family again and he will be seeking redemption for the actions he did last season.

Second. Greg Grunberg confirmed on his twitter account last June 24th that he and Zachary Quinto were filming scenes together. His twitter message was
"Getting ready to go in and beat up on Sylar. I love working with Zach. Always brings his 'A' game!! But no match for Parkman...".

Third. Season 4 filming update. A news article in ODI says that a source from the set claims that in the first episode that Claire will find a dead body. Here is the description of the scene that was scheduled to be filmed: "Claire discovers a body on the sidewalk." This confirms the statement made by Tim Kring in Heroes All Access that there will be suicide that will happen in the campus.

And lastly, ODI said that it is already confirmed that Season 4 Episode 3 title would be "Acceptance".

Okay that's it for now. Feel free to drop a comment. Until next post.

Bryan Fuller Quits Heroes Again

Shocking news from BuddyTV.com. Bryan Fuller, the man who was supposed to save the troubled series, has decided to leave the NBC show once again, consequently vacating his post as consulting producer.

His departure has to do with time constraints and his upcoming projects and not because of creative differences with Heroes creator Tim Kring.

Based on past interviews, Fuller seemed very excited about the upcoming fourth season of Heroes. "Development was really starting to heat up, and it appears like I may be writing multiple pilots for NBC so that wasn't leaving a ton of room for Heroes, unfortunately," In an interwiew with Ain't It Cool News, he said "We crafted some really great arcs for the season that I'm excited to see come to fruition. I love that cast dearly and am sad to go, but the plate -- she was over-flowing."

Fuller left the show towards the end of its first season to create Pushing Daisies. Then returned to Heroes as a consulting producer near the end of last season after ABC canceled Pushing Daisies.

He has worked on some of the best Heroes episodes, including "Company Man" and "Cold Snap." Also, he is credited for Wonderfalls, Dead Like Me, Star Trek: Voyager and Star Trek: Deep Space Nine.

This is once again a huge loss for Heroes. But I hope this won't affect next season's show ratings. What do you think?
